Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Dacope Khulna Shikkha Paribar ("DKSP", "we", "us") is a non-political, non-profit educational and social organisation based in Batbunia, Dacope, Khulna, Bangladesh. This policy applies to our website www.dksp.org and to the DKSP mobile app (the "App"), which shows the same website content. Together we call these the "Service".

2. Information we collect

a) Information you give us when you register as a member

• Full name, mobile number and email address
• National ID (NID) / birth registration number
• Gender, date of birth, marital status, religion and blood group
• Education and profession
• Address (ward/road/area, union, thana/upazila and district)
• Profile photo (if you upload one)
• Password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form — we cannot read it)

b) Payment and donation information

When you pay membership fees, dues or make a donation, payments are processed by our payment partners (such as SSLCommerz, bKash, Nagad and Rocket). We receive and keep the payment amount, purpose, date, transaction/reference ID, payment method and status. We never receive or store your card number, CVV, mobile banking PIN or OTP. These are handled directly by the payment provider under its own privacy policy.

c) Information collected automatically

• Session cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms (security tokens). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Server logs kept by our web host (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time), used for security and troubleshooting.
• App cache: the App stores copies of style files and images on your device so pages load faster. Your personal pages and data are not stored in this cache.

d) Messages you send us

If you contact us by phone, email or the contact page, we keep the information you share so we can reply.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your membership account and issue your member ID card
• To process fees, dues and donations, and provide receipts, invoices and payment statements
• To send you SMS and email messages about your account, payments, password resets (OTP), notices and DKSP activities
• To maintain member and donor records, organise programmes and contact members when needed (for example, blood group information for emergencies within the community)
• To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or misuse
• To meet legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. What may be shown publicly

Some information may appear on public pages of the Service, such as member rosters, donor lists, gallery photos and notices (for example, a name, photo, area or donation acknowledgement). Sensitive details such as your NID, mobile number, email, date of birth, religion, password and payment references are not shown publicly. If you do not want your name or photo shown, contact us and we will remove it.

5. When we share information

• Payment providers (SSLCommerz, bKash, Nagad, Rocket) — only what is needed to complete your payment.
• SMS and email service providers — your mobile number or email address, only to deliver our messages.
• Our web hosting provider — which stores the website and database on our behalf.
• Authorised DKSP administrators — who manage membership and accounts.
• Authorities — when required by the law of Bangladesh or to protect the rights and safety of our members.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your membership information while your account is active. Payment and donation records may be kept for as long as needed for accounting, audit and legal purposes, even after an account is deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our host and then deleted.

7. How we protect information

The Service uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are stored in hashed form, forms are protected against forgery, and administrative access is restricted. No online system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if a problem is found.

8. Your choices and rights — including account deletion

• View and update: sign in and open My Profile to view or correct your details.
• Delete your account and data: send a request from your registered email or mobile number to dksp.info@gmail.com or call/WhatsApp +880 1557-791801, with your name and member ID or registered mobile number. We will verify your identity and delete your account and personal profile data within 30 days. Payment records required for accounting may be kept as described in section 6, but will no longer be linked to an active account.
• Stop messages: ask us to stop non-essential SMS or email at any time.

9. Children

The Service is intended for members and supporters. Persons under 18 should register or make payments only with the permission and involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

10. App permissions

The DKSP App does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera or SMS. If you choose to upload a profile photo, your device only lets you pick a file you select. The App contains no advertisements.

11. Links to other sites

The Service may link to payment pages or other websites that we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Important changes will be announced on our Notices page.
